Our vision is that Colorado State University plays a leadership role in providing the foundational knowledge needed to make the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, primarily via photovoltaic energy generation, ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable. We propose to convene interested faculty and researchers at CSU, particularly those with ongoing and planned research investments in this energy transition, to collaboratively organize during the 2026 spring semester.

Our goal will be to develop a strategic vision for how CSU can become a global leader in sustainable solar energy. One potential outcome would be a new interdisciplinary center at CSU, potentially housed within SoGES, focused on generating and disseminating the knowledge needed to sustainably guide the expansion of photovoltaic solar energy infrastructure in Colorado and globally.
